DEAR SANTA CLAUS

Let’s try to go back to childhood for a moment and experience that feeling of magic again that we perceived while writing a letter to that big man dressed in red. Now that we’ve grown up, what gift can we ask Santa? As we grow, our wishes grow with us. Wishes concerning family, work, friends, the society in which we live… It is a hard job to choose, but the desire to still believe in that magic “that makes everything come true” is an irresistible temptation. So, let’s try.

Dear Santa Claus,

We are writing to you again after ages – forgive my intimacy, but we have known each other for too many years now – to talk to you about us, about our dreams, but also about being so afraid of a world in which sometimes we hardly recognise ourselves. Our company has many years of business experience, we have customers in every corner of the globe, we are proud of our organisation and what we have been able to build. We have ambitious goals and we certainly do not lack the will and commitment to achieve them with the same liveliness, courage and thirst for innovation we have always stood out for. That is not, however, what we are worried about. And here comes the gift we would very much like to receive. What we truly long for is handing on a better world to our children, a world that is sustainable and rich in those values that seem to have dispersed who knows where, stifled by the race for profits and an increasingly self-centred view of life. Yes, we are well aware that this may sound like a shabby request tainted by an all-Christmas do-gooder attitude. We are not asking you to change everything. What you could do is help us realise that we can be the promoters of change ourselves. Everyone – each in their own small way – can do something, setting an example with tangible actions – respecting people and nature, rediscovering the meaning of love, rejecting compromises and shortcuts and working for the . well-being of all Is that too much to ask? Maybe so, but you could ask some of your competitors (the genie in the bottle, the fairy godmother…) for help because it is by joining forces that seemingly unattainable results can be achieved.

Thank you Santa, we are waiting for you!
