The Ocrim team has begun the installation of the turnkey plant, consisting of two 660 T/D lines each able to process both soft and hard wheat, for Universal Robina Corporation (URC) and which will be commissioned in 2024. From the cleaning section to the end-of-line, the plant complex has been designed with the latest innovative technologies that meets the needs of Industry 4.0 linked to the principles of sustainability, food safety, traceability, energy saving.

The plant layout was conceived through the High Efficiency Flow concept to maximise the extraction of high-quality flours by the state-of-the-art Ocrim machines The primary materials used in the mill are stainless steel and antimicrobial plastic, ensuring a high standard of sanitation. The cleaning section consists of two lines characterized by the High Efficiency Cleaning criteria, making the cleaning process as effective as possible by eliminating as much impurities as possible and grains infected with mycotoxins. In the milling section, innovative user-friendly solutions have been applied to simplify the maintenance of both the individual machines and the rest of the plant. Concerning the automation, for example, the use of a single centralized PLC that manages all the rollermills with the use of a tablet as a human-machine interface allowing to reduce the maintenance of the electronic parts.

Regarding food safety, production quality and yields the flour silo was designed with individual filters per bin, thus avoiding the phenomenon of product cross-contamination. Furthermore, the storage of by-products in a segregated area of the plant complex is foreseen to avoid possible contamination.

URC is one of the most important agro-industrial companies in the Philippines and shares a bold vision with Ocrim that translates into a business with the final consumer at its heart.
